Dr Kumar is an orthopaedic surgeon specialising in disorders of the knee and shoulder. His subspecialty interest is in the treatment of sportspeople and functional, active individuals.
He completed his medical degree at the University of Sydney, graduating with Honours, and progressed through his general orthopaedic training with the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) and Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS). He completed a further year and a half of subspeciality training throughout Europe, including Ireland, France, England, Scotland, Austria and Belgium.
Dr Kumar feels that a multidisciplinary approach to total patient care is imperative to obtain optimum outcomes. The role of GPs, physiotherapists, sports physicians, coaches, rehabilitation providers and other allied health personnel make up an integral part of his practice and maintaining a strong and free-flowing line of communication is the key to this.
